Getting our Crafting Groove on with Crayola Color Wonder

Those that know me well, know that I love to craft. I have more crafting supplies than one could possibly ever need and not so many years ago it was my go-to stress reliever. Then I had kids. When you have kids, sometimes you have to let go of something and for me, it was crafting. From time to time, usually for a party or holiday, I get to sneak in some crafting, and while it’s often short lived, I am always in my happy spot when I get the chance.

From a young age, I introduced arts and crafts to Hazel with various projects at home. Once she was enrolled in daycare, the creating only continued and by the time she was done that first year she came home with a box filled with artwork. When I started my second maternity leave and she was back home with me full time, there was no way we were going to let that creative spirit disappear. With Everett in that newborn sleepy phase, we would spend hours and hours crafting. There would be pipe cleaners flying, paint on the floor, but it didn’t matter—we were having fun. Unfortunately, as Everett got older and slept less our crafting time slowed down significantly and the moment he became mobile it pretty much stopped. The last few months I’ve known something was missing in our daily fun but I’ve just pushed it aside saying we will get back into it. Maybe one day when he naps without me or is able to participate we will try again. It might take some time but we will get back into our groove, I told myself. And then we were introduced to a game changer; Crayola Color Wonder.

Crayola Color Wonder

As someone who is big into arts and crafts, I don’t know why I didn’t search out Crayola Color Wonder before. All that matters is that it’s in my life now and we are able to get our creating groove back on. With a variety of products available from markers and finger paint, Crayola Color Wonder products are absolutely magical, my friends.

What makes it so magical you ask? The paints and markers only colour on the special Color Wonder paper. This means there is zero worry of paint on your walls, clothing, floors, or anywhere. There is ZERO MESS! I know what you’re thinking—how is finger paint mess free? The finger paint is a clear gel that turns the selected colour only when touched to the Color Wonder paper. I was even able to let Everett (13 months) have a go with the markers and the only time they left any colour was when the tip touched the paper. It’s pure magic for the creative child and a huge relief for the parent.

For someone like me, it means we can have our creative time back and I don’t have to worry about a huge clean up or trying to keep Everett away. Should I also need to leave the room to tend to Everett or heaven forbid I have to pee, I can leave knowing I won’t come back to wall murals or a tattooed little brother. If mess free fun doesn’t win you over, the colouring sheets come in a variety of favourite characters like Paw Patrol, Thomas and Friends, Mickey Mouse, and our personal favourite, Disney Princesses.
