Valentines Day {Collaboration} Party

You might remember last year I teamed up with a couple of other bloggers for a fun Valentines Day themed party. You can find the party details here in my sugar cookie recipe. We dismantled Hazels room, setting up our little party in it. Very quickly there was icing on the walls and sprinkles in the carpet and three adorable little girls running around high on sugar. While the girls had never met before and all just a few months apart in age the little party we hosted for them was the foundation of some of the sweetest little friendships. So when Keisha from Loving Littles Blog reached out to us all to do it all over again, throwing another Valentines Day {Collaboraton} Party, there was no way I could say no. Not only would we have the three little amigos partying but we were adding a few more into our tribe. I mean take a look at this comparison from last years party to this years. Our sweet little girls are starting to look more like little ladies and less like babies. (Insert Kim Kardashian crying face here.)

Now one might think these parties are all sunshine and rainbows but the reality is they are CHAOTIC. A lot of work goes into organizing the event, from picking the location to reaching out to local vendors to collaborate with. We all also do a DIY or two to showcase our creative sides. And let me tell you we are a creative bunch! Each and every time we get together we seem to raise the bar, outdoing the previous party. The night before you can usually find us scrambling to finish our DIY’s (because mom life) and madly texting each other with reminder lists. The day of behind the scenes is where the real chaos kicks in. Very rarely do we have child wranglers with us so there is anywhere from 3-10 kids running around, which means anything and everything will happen. There will be meltdowns, there will be sugar highs, there will be excessive amounts of coffee consumed, followed by wine once we all get home. I think our next party needs to be sans kids and include wine. At the end of the day it is a lot of fun seeing what we come up with and there is nothing more rewarding than that huge sigh of relief as we take it all in, merely seconds before the children are let loose on the sweets!

So without further ado here are my favourite snaps from this years Valentines Day Party we hosted at Highstreet Shopping Centre. All pictures were taken by the lovely Vanessa of Vanessa Marie Studios. A full list of vendors can be found here on a Loving Littles Blog and don’t forget to check out the following DIYs.
