1, 2, 3, Hello Third Trimester

1, 2, 3!!! Three is an important number around here this week with baby number three! I have officially entered my third trimester, which means that I only have three months left to go before we meet baby. This to me is absolutely insane, I can’t believe how fast time is going by and I have a feeling that this next month is going to fly by even faster with Christmas.

Since my last bump update and our gender reveal I have started to do some shopping for baby. I went through all of the old clothes we had from Everett and surprisingly we still had everything except the first 3 months. I think this is partially due to the fact that he is so small and was still wearing some of his 3-6 month stuff at a year, when I did my last clothing purge. Thanks to all the Black Friday deals I think we are fully stocked up one little onesies and sleepers for those first few months. As it will be February / March (it better be February, ha) when baby joins us I know its going to be cold and wet, as we dash from preschool and dance class so I stuck with the basics to keep him cozy for the first bit. I still have my eye on one of these knitted YarningMade Blankets. Both the other two have them and they are the perfect blankets for in the car.

We are still with out a name. We’ve tossed around a few ideas here and there and started creeping the old family names, but so far nothing has jumped out at us. I posted a little while ago about our thoughts on naming baby, you can read it here. So if you have any suggestions I am all ears and would love to hear them. Send me an email, leave a comment, Facebook or Instagram me. Give me all the baby names you got! I did joke with Ev that we should name this one something that starts with Ev again. So I will have my Evan, Hazel (Evelyn), Everett and then another Ev, ha!! Funny how that works, and there was no planning it.

Hazel is still over the moon excited about the baby, even though it’s a boy and not a girl. She talks about the baby a lot, and insists on kissing my belly good morning everyday. She has also given me lots of advice for labor, insisting that I need to be brave when it comes out of my bum!! Haha! She kills me. As for Everett, he’s slowly acknowledging the impending arrival. He too will now point at my belly and say baby and give it hugs and the odd kiss. Mostly he enjoys throwing a good fist into it, a sign perhaps of the brotherly bond to come? Who knows.

As for me, I am feeling about as good as one can be at 28 weeks. I feel like the wave (it was a small wave at that) of energy I had over the second trimester is slowly fizzling out. Afternoon naps are my life these days and the days I can get Everett down so I can snooze are amazing. A fellow blogger described the third pregnancy as horizontal parenting and I couldn’t agree more. I have definitely been more tired and more sick this time than the others, but c’est la vie. I haven’t had any real cravings when it comes to food, I actually would say I don’t have a huge appetite, perhaps because there is little to no room already. My weight gain for this pregnancy has mirrored the other two, slow and steady and if it keeps the same for the last bit I will have gained the same as previous.

My basketball really popped out over the last month, enough so that people have started to ask how far along I am. It’s been kind of funny, as some of the other preschool and dance moms have definitely questioned it but didn’t want to say anything until it was beyond obvious. It’s also so hard to tell during the winter season with big warm sweaters and coats, coats that don’t do up, haha! Here’s hoping I can survive the next few months and theres a chance by the time February rolls around I will be living in Ugg boots and sweatpants.
