Mamarita
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Do you know how amazing a freshly squeezed margarita would be right about now? Oh gosh, I could kill for one right about now. Probably one of the biggest downsides to being pregnant during the summer, is no afternoons lounging on a patio sipping ice cold cocktails! I know, poor me right? I normally would be heart broken, but I found a book my sister gifted to me two Mothers Day’s ago when I was expecting Hazel, Preggatinis! You guessed it, its full of fun mock tails for the mama to be! Appropriately enough I found a recipe for a virgin margarita that I thought I would share with you. So grab your shakers and your limes and get shakin!
Mamarita
2 tablespoons rimming salt
1 ounce agave nectar
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 ounce orange juice
3 ounces limeade
1 lime wedge
Salt-rim a margarita glass and set aside. Stir agave nectar and lemon juice in the bottom of a mixing glass until nectar dissolves. Add orange juice, limeade and ice, then shake vigorously. Strain into the margarita glass, serve with a lime wedge.
I think I will be enjoying a few of these on my patio this summer. Hope you enjoy!
