Clearer Vision at My Finger Tips? Yes, Please!

Over the past year I’ve found myself repeatedly struggling with my vision. I found when looking off into the distance it was getting blurrier and blurrier everyday. I also started to notice an increase in my headaches, especially after logging a lot of screen time. And then I went on maternity leave, had a baby, chased after a toddler and lost track of time. I had no problem making doctors appointments, or dental appointments in the past but when it came to my eyes, it was always low on my priority. Finally March hit, Evan had a random Friday off and I said to myself that’s it, tomorrow I’m going to get my eyes checked.

So here I stand in the middle of my local opticians office, a fresh eye exam under my belt and walls of glasses staring back at me. I begin making my way around the office picking up glasses here and there, trying them on as I go. As I do so other customers are trickling in and out of the office and I am very aware of their presence. As I continue trying on the designer frames that are being passed to me I start to meet the eyes of other customers in the mirror. “Why are they watching me?” And other thoughts of judgement like “are these frames considered cool?” “Do I look funny in these, is that why they’re watching?” start filling my head. I feel the anxiety start to build so I ask for a quote on the two best options in my hand and say I’m going to sleep on my decision. I take my quote for the designer glasses that is more than both of our insurance companies combined allow and head home.

Once I get home I make myself a cup of tea, grab my laptop, get cozy on my bed and start scouring the Internet for glasses. Within seconds I find myself on, a Vancouver based company known for offering stylish and affordable eyewear. Clearer vision at my finger tips? Yes, please! Not only do they offer a handful of designer brands but they offer a wide variety of exclusive to Clearly brands. While they might not be of a designer name, they are on still on trend with todays top styles and most importantly at a very affordable price. A price that would allow me to purchase two – three pairs and have them all covered by insurance with mine and my husbands combined plans. Hello prescription sunglasses, mama’s coming for you!

I know what you’re thinking, ordering prescription glasses online, isn’t like ordering a shirt. Trust me, I’m just as skeptical as you are. One of the winning factors for me was the ability to try the glasses on virtually. Zero anxiety, and zero worries of others watching me. I simply snapped a picture with my built in webcam (you can upload a picture if you don’t have this option) and selected the glasses I was interested in, clicked try them on and voila, my face with glasses! Quick, painless and I can order glasses from the comfort of my bed while the kids nap? A M A Z I N G.

The best part about this whole experience? I can see, like I can see the time on my stove clock from the kitchen table! So aside from keeping my eye exams more up to date now, the recommend every two years, I will be leaving my eyewear shopping to online. That being said I might just make the visit into one of the Clearly stores in Vancouver for my eye exam next time.

I love your glasses! I have been having a lot of trouble with my eyes lately, and have been putting off an exam. I really need to just do it already.
