A Day on the Lake with Cultus Marina

With Evan off last week we took full advantage of the great weather and attempted to cram as many summer activities as we could into the week. We started our week off with an afternoon of boating at Cultus Marina and then followed it up with an afternoon at the lake (see here) and trips back to Cultus Waterslides and Adventure park (read more here). Going forward I think that will be the plan for all summers, with one week dedicated to camping and another filled with local fun.

Our afternoon rental at Cultus Marina was the perfect way to kick off our week of fun. I am pretty sure it was the first time Evan and I had been on a boat together and possibly the 2nd or 3rd time I had been on a boat. I am prone to motion sickness whether on land or sea so one of the reasons why my boating days are few. This being said once I got the hang of it, I was good to go.

The staff at Cultus Marina were absolutely amazing helping us get set up for the boat. They made sure we were all properly fitted with life jackets and then gave us a through run down on operating the boat. We had an 11 person boat and it was more than enough room for the five of us and was super easy to drive. Upon our return to the dock they were quick to guide us in and take over the docking of the boat. It made for a worry free afternoon for us.

Most importantly the kids had an absolute blast while we were out on the boat. They were both a little leery about going fast to start but quickly got the hang of it and were eager to fast. As they are still fairly young we didn’t rent tubes or a wakeboard, that’s something we would probably do next time especially if we didn’t have Ryerson. I will add that Ryerson was an absolute dream while were out and was even so comfy in his life jacket he fell asleep sitting up before we left the dock!! So instead of tubing we found ourselves cruising around the lake and stopping at different points to jump in for a refreshing dip. The kids loved this and were in and out of the lake constantly. We also had packed a light picnic lunch to enjoy while we were on the lake.

Since we are so close to such a beautiful lake it would be an absolute dream to have a boat we could take up with us. We would probably be at the lake every weekend, even thought its crazy busy. Alas we have no room to store a boat and nothing to tow it with so its just on the dream list for now. But knowing that Cultus Marina has great rental options, both boats and jet skis the option to enjoy the boating life is there for us at all times and is something that we will probably do again and again!
