Distressed Jeans {DIY}
First things first, I am NOT a fashion blogger, I never have been and never will be. I hate being in front of the camera and always find it awkward and uncomfortable. Im really not sure how any of the fashion bloggers do it, and how they look so natural when doing it too. Second thing my hubby is not a professional photographer! Combine both these things, a dog that won’t sit still and a toddler that keeps driving away and these photoshoots turn into a gongshow!
That being said when the lovely ladies over at Three Little Crowns posted their DIY tutorial on distressing jeans, I knew I had to try it out. I have been dying to try it out for quite some time now but our weather has been so AMAZING here in Vancouver that the thought of wearing pants has yet to cross my mind. Well just last weekend it cooled down for a day and I got my chance! Seeing as how I probably wasn’t going to fit there was no chance I was going to fit into my regular jeans I pulled out a pair of my favourite maternity jeans from when I was pregnant with Hazel. I blew the dust of them (just kidding they were freshly washed) and got set to destroying them.
While I am very happy with the results, I think I have a bit more tweaking to do to them before they are perfect. I even had a girlfriend text me just after I posted a picture of them on Instagram asking where I got them! Hopefully I will get the chance to wear them again before baby #2 comes, if not I will have good practise and will probably be found destroying the rest of my pre pregnancy closet!
For the full tutorial, visit the ladies over at Three Little Crowns . It’s super easy and will probably having you out buying a pair of $20 jeans and making them your own!
Don’t mind the ice cream or the Instagram picture or the ridiculous amount of cat hair on them but here’s a closer look at how mine turned out 🙂
