This past Sunday was the halfway mark for this pregnancy, I can’t believe how quickly it’s been going by. I said before I won’t bore you guys with all the details, but I thought I would give you a little update on how it’s going so far.
I would say overall the pregnancy has been very similar to my pregnancy with Hazel. I’ve had less sickness this time around, that being said though I did take the sky train everyday last time. The thought alone of taking our lovely transit system makes me nauseous. I have however this time had a few random occurrences like getting sick in the middle of the night, which is kinda weird.
My little belly seems to be popping out at the same pace as it did last time. Slowly getting over the I ate to much for dinner phase and starting to look pregnant! I also seem to be gaining weight at the same pace I did last time. I am hoping that I gain around the same amount as last time, as I never really got uncomfortable. That being said with working full time and having Hazel to take care of I haven’t had a chance to get to the gym yet. She can also be a bit of a workout so some days it still feels like I am getting my workout in. I will just have to make sure I stay away from any Tim Hortons for the next 4 months, as their new Nutella Pastries are deadly!
On Monday we went for our detailed ultrasound and got to see our little peanut. It’s so surreal to see them moving away on the screen. It appears that we have a real mover and shaker on our hands. This little peanut wouldn’t sit still the entire appointment. I think it’s more exciting for Evan than it is for me, as there’s not really much he can feel or do for the majority of the pregnancy. That is except rub my sore stinky feet 😉
We have opted to find out the gender of this baby, something we didn’t do with Hazel. We thought it would be fun to do something a little different this time around and its a good excuse to throw a party! While we did request to find out we are going to wait and find out at the same time as our family and a few close friends. This way we can share the excitement with those closest to us. The unfortunate thing about that is with our upcoming trip we have to wait a few weeks before we can do it. I know I waited a full 10 months to find out what Hazel was (besides healthy and perfect) but knowing the answer to who is growing inside my belly is inside an envelope a mere 10 feet away is going to kill me for the next month! I don’t have any gut feelings yet, towards the end I had a pretty good feeling that Hazel was a girl. I would love to hear what you think #babymilliard2 is going to be. Post your guesses in the comments and be sure to check back to see if you were right when I post our gender reveal next month!
