It’s a Pug life

I attended a baby shower this past weekend and as I mentioned on Instagram (if your not already following along, come join the fun @mrsmilliard) that I had found my new favourite baby shower gift. Here it is:

How ridiculously cute is that basket? The mom to be has a pug and he is her first baby. Every time I see something pug related I instantly think of her, so when this cute little basket popped up in my Instagram feed the other day I was like I have to get it for her. I had been struggling to come up with the perfect gift for them, there are so many great local shops and I love supporting them all, but nothing was really jumping out and saying this is the gift for them.

I mean how could you resist that cute little face? The bags are handmade by Amber, locally in Langley, BC. She can custom make different sizes, patterns and even add names or words to the top rim. While she has just recently relaunched her Etsy shop, From the Seeds, she is super talented and has been creating beautiful treasures and toys out of her home for a few years now.  Since relaunching her shop she has moved her crafting out of her home and into a studio in Langley and starting this Saturday she will be open to the public. Word on the street is there will be a few other local brands set up at her shop too.

To help get this mom to be prepared for her new role, I stuffed the little pug basket with a few of our favourite things. I started by filling the base of the basket with newborn diapers, I keep forgetting how tiny these are! The babies room is safari themed so a Jellycat Giraffe was needed. These stuffed animals are by far our favorite, they are so soft! Next I added a white and grey chevron print swaddling blanket, a copy of Guess How Much I Love you and finished the basket off with some oatmeal bath. The more I think about it this basket has the new parents to be all set for the perfect bedtime routine.
