I can’t believe that not only has it been almost two months since we took these maternity photos but that our little Ryerson has been with us for almost a month! Does anyone else find it crazy that we are well over half way into the third month of 2018 already?!?!
Even though this is our third pregnancy and I know some people feel the need to only document a bump once, there was no question about it for us when it came to taking maternity photos a third time. The biggest question was where were we going to do these photos. With the last two being summer babies, it was easy to catch good weather and take outdoor photos (Hazels here and Everetts here). This time with it being winter it was a little trickier. Early on I had my hopes on a winter shoot but our winter weather was less than stellar this year and we ended up with more rain than anything and no one likes a soggy photoshoot.
After some back and forth with Emily (Emily Leeman Photography) we decided that an in home photo shoot was going to be our best bet. This would allow us to capture the kids in their natural element, without stressing about the weather cooperating and dragging them around. Trying to capture a two year old is hard enough as it is without trying to fight the weather at the same time. I even laugh looking at these pictures as you can totally tell which ones Everett has a mouth full of jelly beans in and which ones he’s asking for more, haha.
After we finished up our indoor family shoot Emily and I snuck off to find some snow. I am not sure why I had my heart set on some bump photos in the snow but she was bound to help me fulfill that crazy desire, so off we went. I had heard that there was still a bit of snow up towards Chilliwack lake so we started to make our way, as we did it of course started to rain. Several times on our drive we toyed with the idea of turning around but then we would see the tiniest patch of snow and get excited and keep going and I am so glad we did. Just outside of the lake we found a trail with plenty of snow and made a mad dash in the rain to get a couple of pictures.
