Now before we reveal anything let me explain a little as to why we wanted to find out who baby number three was going to be. Hazel was a surprise baby, we went the whole pregnancy with out finding out and while I was definitely curious I wasn’t the least bit tempted to find out. I think it’s safe to say I surprised a few people with this as I am a planner. When we were pregnant with Everett we wanted to do things slightly different and a little bit of the planning aspect took over. We were thinking room sharing and all that fun stuff so we chose to find out. We hosted a gender reveal party for our family and friends and we all found out together. It was also a fun way to celebrate his upcoming arrival, as there typically isn’t a shower for the second or third baby.
With baby number three the reason for finding out was slightly different, you see there is Hazel. From the moment I told her I was pregnant and I waited until I was 12 weeks along to tell her because well, she likes to talk. Well as soon as she knew there was another baby on the way all she could talk about was her baby sister!! Any time we brought up that it might not be a sister she would simply say Nope, I don’t want another brother, I want a sister. Ooh Boy! I started to think this could be trouble and couldn’t imagine her arriving at the hospital and being so disappointed if it wasn’t a girl. She was already planning on sharing her dresses and hair bows and how fun it was going to be have another girl in the house. So we thought by finding out again we could not only be prepared with clothing etc but should the results be different than what Hazel would like at least we would have some time to break any disappointment and hopefully put a positive spin on it. This being said there’s always that 10% chance the ultrasound is wrong and we have a delivery room surprise!
We tossed around the idea of hosting another party for our family and friends to come celebrate with us but lets be honest, I don’t have the energy for that. So last weekend we met up with Julie Christine Photography to sneak in a quick gender reveal shoot. It was a super last minute ok lets do this and we didn’t tell the kids what we were doing aside from having some family photos taken. We were so lucky that we caught some of the last good weather for a while and that Julie was able to help us with this. I’ve followed Julie’s work for a while now and know countless friends that have used her for their family shoots and there is no doubt about it, she is a very talented photographer. When we received our photos this week we were blown away by what she was able to capture for us!
So without further ado baby number three is going to be a…….
We are super excited to be adding another little boy to the family this winter. Everett has no idea whats going on but he’s going to be gaining a little best friend to cause chaos with. Hazel if you are wondering, took it better than expected. She’s looking forward to lots of one on one pedicure dates and getting her own room with a big bed in the future. Which she’s already asked if the boys can come share with her, ha! Girl has a big heart and is just excited for some newborn cuddles, like the rest of us <3
The way the smoke caught the sunlight in this one!! AMAZING!!
