Upon receiving our Playtex Playtime Cup last week, Evan and I began weighing the pros and cons of all the different types of sippy cups that have made their way into our cupboard over the past year. We quickly realized that as parents we had become sippy cup connoisseurs and that we were in desperate need of a date night that didn’t involve conversation about children!
Our cupboard currently includes a section of cups that are short and wide with handles, tall and skinny with straws, some where the straws are removable and some where the straws are attached. Each and every single one of them has something about them that I don’t like. The short ones the filter falls out the instant the cup is dropped, and when you have a toddler the cup gets dropped ALOT. The one with the straw attached has a tricky lid that isn’t the easiest to get on. The ones with the removable straw well, the straw turns into a bubble wand and lets just say while I love Hazels imagination I don’t appreciate apple juice being flung about my living room! And most importantly of all they ALL LEAK! While I have no purchase regrets with any of the cups, I still have yet to find one that I love, until now.
Not only does Hazel love the My Little Pony design on the cup, but the cup is the perfect diameter, making it easy for her to grasp. The cup itself has double wall installation, keeping the beverage of our choice nice and cool, and it does not sweat! The spill proof valve is able to withstand numerous toddler drops, keeping this mommy very happy as I don’t have to constantly reattach it. The Twist and Click lid design is the highlight for me. Not only is it easy to get the lid on and make sure it’s locked in place it DOESN’T LEAK!! Amen! As we are always on the go when we aren’t at work or daycare it makes taking our water along with us a breeze. Hazel has gotten into the habit lately of always making sure she throws her cup into my purse as we head out the door (she has to be just like mommy) and at least now I don’t have to worry about what ever she throws in my purse leaking. There have been several occasions in the past where we have arrived at our destination only to discover the contents of my purse are soaked. One of them being my sister-in-laws wedding! I think it’s safe to say we will be downsizing the amount of different cups we have and replacing them with the Playtex Playtime Cups.
