Last Friday evening we had the pleasure of attending the opening evening of the North Pole BC at Tradex in Abbotsford. Unlike the majority of Christmas themed events in Vancouver, this is entirely based indoors. As our weather is not always favourable in Vancouver this takes the worry of countless layers and staying dry away.
Trying to contain Hazel to follow the event from station to station was near impossible. She enjoyed the fact that there was plenty of room to run free and ran from station to station, in no particular order. I enjoyed the fact that the venue was not overly crowded and their was plenty of room to move about. This allowed me to bring the stroller inside, instead of having to wear Everett.
I think it was safe to say that Tinsel Town for Tots was one of Hazels favourite stations, as it was full of age appropriate toys. She happily grabbed one of the mobile rocking horses and before we knew it she was half way across the venue on it! Other favourites were the Snow Princesses, she was completely mezmerized by her, Gingerbread bakery where we decorated cookies, and of course Santa Clause himself.
I don’t want to go into to much detail as that would ruin the magic of the event for you. You really have to experience it yourself! The good news is The North Pole BC runs until the 23rd of December and I highly recommend a visit if you are in the lower mainland. You can find more information here on our previous post or here on the North Pole BC website.
