I think the title of this post sums it up pretty good and that any mom will agree working out at home with kids is no easy task. That is unless you’re doing said work out at some unthinkable hour in the morning or after they are in bed. Well in addition to our get healthy attempt and being on day 15 or maybe 16 of Whole 30 I thought I would add in a quick 30 minute work out in the morning. While I most certainly got my whole work out in, it didn’t quite go as planned.
My toddler thought it would be great fun to join in the work out. It’s all fun and games right? Well within seconds he was bouncing in front of me as I tried to use the weights, stole the weights from me and every single time I dropped to the floor for the abs moves, he was on me like butter on toast. Every chance he got to climb on top and sneak in a quick nursing session he was making it happen, this kid was on a mission. Add in a few licks of my feet from the dog and a swats at my hair from the cat hiding under the bed and my routine was full of “fun” obstacles.
Of course after yesterdays antics and this hilarious but true picture I knew I had to capture my entire 30 minutes. So today I set up my phone in the hallway on time lapse to capture the work out and in true fashion it was just as chaotic as the day before. This time we added in the big sister who was right there beside me (stealing my mat) and even proclaimed several times that this was exhausting…..
So I want to know, how do you get your exercise in? Do you go to a gym, work out at home, pound the pavement? Whats your go to, to burn some calories (and steam).
